SMoCA’s Visions Teen Program:
This week I will have the pleasure of working with some young valley talent as part of The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s Visions Teen Program. Through a photography workshop exploring the use of “large” and “small” scale photography high school students will be introduced to two very different forms of image capture - “new age” microscopic photography and “old school” large format view cameras. By focusing on concepts of space and environments and their relationships with small “things” that make them up, these young talents will learn some new methods through which to produce their own work. Any chance I have to work with young talented individuals is always exciting. I enjoy sharing and hopefully inspiring these students to continue engaging in the arts and look forward to seeing the works they create.
